Pompano Beach is a Community that C.A.R.E.s

If you want Pompano Beach to have a vibrant downtown, become a safer place, and eliminate blight, then you CARE about the City too! Creating Accessible Roadways for Everyone (CARE) is a community-based approach to improving the blighted area of our City near Atlantic Boulevard and Dixie Highway.

According to Traffic Engineer Joaquin Vargas, Only two minutes may be added to the travel time for west bound traffic during rush hour only. And virtually no additional time for the other 22-23 hours.”

School crossing guards are doing their best to protect our local children as they traverse the hazardous walking conditions of this intersection. As you watch the video, you can feel the stress of this crossing guard and appreciate the goal of making this intersection safer.

Did you know that the number of accidents in the area of Atlantic Boulevard and Dixie Highway is twice the number of comparable intersections in the State of Florida?

Communities that CARE, understand the importance of safety, slow down when driving through neighborhoods and support initiatives that create more walkable, accessible, and safer roads for everyone.

Communities that CARE Help Reduce Crime

Communities that CARE understand the importance of building a downtown. Traffic speed and lack of street appearance and esthetics correlate with increased crime. Slowing traffic and improving the character of the street will reduce crime. Making sure we make Pompano Beach a better place to live safely is essential to the success of our downtown!

Communities that CARE Appreciate Progress

Several new restaurants are under construction and a new mixed-used residential project is rising in the area. The new safer road configuration, which will fit the character of our vibrant City, will become the grid that connects the key areas of the new Downtown. Investment in the area creates a strong tax base. With a strong tax base come lower residential property taxes.

We all want a city we can take pride in! Join the movement to say I C.A.R.E.
